I began practicing yoga in 2004 with Laura DeFreitas and walked away from my first class awe-struck by my body’s ability, the creativity of asana movement and, over time, freedom from depression and anxiety. The philosophies and asanas of Yoga have shaped my personal and professional perspectives and molded for me greater introspection, awareness and an open heart. I also have a very playful and curious side to complement my more focused and serious internal self.
I completed my teacher training certification under Melina Meza, Jenny Hayo and Anne Phyfe Palmer at the 8 Limbs Yoga Centers in Seattle, Washington and am a Registered Yoga Teacher 200-hour (RYT). Prior to that, I studied journalism and literature at a private university and hold an interdisciplinary Bachelor’s degree from the Evergreen State College with an emphasis in social justice (civil and human rights) and mindful meditation/consciousness studies.
Outside of my physical Yoga practice, I study law, and I enjoy playing around with acro-yoga, boulder climbing, cooking for special diets, kayaking and writing. I’m an INFJ.
